On December 4th, Creative Connect launched the very first edition of Portfolio Boost at the NAD-UQAC school and it turned out to be an incredible moment for Montréal’s creative community!

Designed as a space for exchange, learning, and mentorship, the event brought together over 100 participants: students, juniors, transitioning professionals, 3D artists, animators, concept artists, VFX and game artists… all united by the same goal: to grow, learn, and connect.

⭐ 40 reviews and incredible energy

Thanks to the involvement of our volunteer reviewers, supervised by the amazing team at RhumHR, more than 40 portfolios were thoroughly reviewed by artists from local and international studios. Each participant left with personalized feedback, concrete improvement paths, and above all, renewed motivation.

The atmosphere was warm, dynamic, and authentic, a reminder that the strength of our industry lies first and foremost in the people who shape it.

🎤 Inspiring Talks

This first edition also stood out thanks to two major highlights:

  • Margot Ingrassia’s conference, Senior Animator at Sony Imageworks, where she shared concrete tips to help students and young professionals succeed in job interviews, understand studio expectations, and better prepare for entering the industry.

  • The “Breaking the Frame” panel, hosted by Synthèse, which introduced participants to lesser-known yet essential careers within our industry. It sparked a rich discussion and opened new perspectives for many attendees.

🔗 Networking That Brings the Industry Together

At the end of the day, the networking session brought together professionals and students, creating a real bridge between generations and disciplines. We had the pleasure of welcoming the teams from Les Jeudis VFX and Le Québec n’a plus d’effets, uniting around one table the initiatives that energize and strengthen Montréal’s creative community.

These spontaneous and authentic conversations were one of the major highlights of the event.

📸 Thank You to Tsahai for the Professional Portraits

The event also offered a professional photo session led by Tsahai, who delivered beautiful portraits while managing her setup with full autonomy and efficiency. It was a fantastic opportunity for artists to strengthen their professional presence.
